“Drawing from the outside of the line”
Inspiration doesn’t follow rules and goes beyond ordinary judgment.
Standards of Beauty shift and become universal in their variety.
The title "Drawing from outside of the line" refers to the practice of creating art by breaking off from the traditional limitations of labeling an artist’s creative output to allow a freedom seldom found in daily life .
I love to mix media's like drawing & collage plus painting and knit designs with mixed media objects.
It is time that artists speak out against the confinement of a system that tries to control the artist by caging them with artificial limitations and force them into a production line mentality were it is expected to participate in creative exploitation and to reproduce ones style until its commercial value is exhausted.
Limitation is for wimps and repetition is for amateurs!
My anger draws from outside the line where it is fresh and unencumbered by social politeness.
To speak one’s mind should be ones first amendment to create free of restrictions should be ones second.
My concepts are executed by bringing in lots of diverse materials and styles together and let them find their symbiotic relationship.
They are mostly created during a focused stream of conscious period and allowed to fill the room/space with their vibratory level to allow the observer to engage in a dialog in their own voice.
My work is not a fixed output that pretends to be alive but is dead instead but lots of my pieces shape shift to accommodate a new environment and blend into a fresh song with newly produced work.
